Itinerary: 

 

Vineyard Haven  

We drive past the Steamship Authority Wharf and then along Vineyard Havens' Historic Main Street which winds down towards West Chop and the outer Harbor.

 

West Chop Lighthouse

Enjoy the charming architecture of this historical lighthouse as well as the beautiful bluff of West Chop. We pause here briefly to learn about lighthouses and then continue our drive along this picturesque coastal area passing by the West Chop Club and scenic overlook of the Elizabeth Islands. We stop at this overlook for photos! 5 minutes

Menemsha Fishing Village or Aquinnah Cliffs - Your Choice

 

Menemsha Fishing Village

Walk around this historical harbor while enjoying a lobster roll or cup of New England clam chowder…yummy! This area is also home to many famous scenes from the original 1975 film "Jaws", a summertime Island favorite. See which ones you can remember as you take in this unique gem of a fishing village. Also a very famous sunset destination boasting the best sunsets on the Vineyard. 20 minutes

 

Aquinnah Cliffs

Walk around the picturesque cliffs that overlook Nomans' and the Elizabeth Islands. Takes pictures of the sound as well as the painted clay cliffs that make this area such a sought after destination. Enjoy some local seafood or burgers while supporting the local Wampanoag population. Ice cream is also available seasonally. Take pictures of the Aquinnah Lighthouse and learn how it was moved, to preserve it from erosion. 20 minutes

 

Edgartown

We drive along the timeless Main Street area where the Old Whaling Church can be seen as well as the harbor and many of the charming shops and cottages that are so unique to the Edgartown look. We drive to the Edgartown light house and stop in front of the Harbor View Hotel where we will find sweeping views of the outer harbor and discuss the history of the lighthouse. 2 minutes

 

Joseph Sylvia State Beach

Take in views of the ocean as well as Sengekontacket Pond as we drive past Jaws Bridge.

 

Oak Bluffs

Here we will focus on the Gingerbread Cottages of the Old Methodist Campground. We stop for pictures as we drive through this uniquely, well preserved area. From here we drive along Oak Bluffs harbor and then East Chop bluff which eventually leads back to Vineyard Haven as we drop off at the Steamship Authority Terminal for the conclusion of our tour.
